Oak Glen

I don't know if you remember the post last year with all the pictures of the pumpkins overflowing out of the back of my car... Well we made the trip again this year and left with 52 pumpkins between our family, my parents, my in laws, my grandma in-law, and a friend. No huge ones like last year but I think that long one is awesome. It looks just like a zucchini, but it's hard like a pumpkin. Anyone know what it is?
We met at our house at 9am then headed out to Riley's farm where we showed ourselves to the pumpkin patch and began loading up the pumpkins. Last year we were there on a Saturday and the place was busy. This year we where the only ones on that side of the farm. Joshua had fun rolling pumpkins down the hill. Luke cried (a lot) because I wouldn't hold him. After collecting pumpkins, we went down below to their restaurant and had some lunch. Luke was much happier at that point and John loved the chicken pot pie.
After paying for our pumpkins we headed up toward oak glen a bit more to get some apples, cider, and donuts, before calling it a day and heading home. The kids had fun - John took the day off work - and I'm excited to go back again next year. Last year my pumpkins lasted a good 8 months before some kids found and smashed them on our front steps!! We'll see how long they make it this time around.

Halloween

Again my pictures aren't exactly in the order that I'd want. So first you have to admire the amazing costume my friend made for her baby and the stroller! Aren't you impressed?!?!?
On Friday, Joshua had a preschool party, we then went to the ward party, and Saturday had family and friends over for dinner and trick-or-treating. Above Joshua is sitting at his desk pouting at his Halloween party because his teacher didn't call on him to say the prayer. It was the cutest thing. Joshua isn't a natural pouter, so I'm sure he was working very hard to maintain this countence. Below he is happily waving to me as his class paraded the costumes.
Both boys LOVED Halloween this year. Saturday afternoon Joshua kept saying "I wish it was dark now." He loved being Batman, and Luke loved being Woody. I'm excited that I don't have to hide the Woody costume anymore and Luke can wear it whenever he wants!

As for updates... Both boys are growing up. Luke cracks me up with the things he says. (please excuse the grossness that follows). The other day I was going potty and Luke walks in the bathroom and says "yucky". Then he walks over to me, sticks his nose down, takes a big whiff, and says "mmmm, so good!" I start cracking up so he keeps doing it, then he starts pretending he's putting that yummy smelling stuff into his mouth and eating it. I was laughing so much, that he now loves to pretend that yucky things are yummy.

I think that Luke thinks John resides in the bed. Whenever he's looking for daddy he heads back to the bedroom and looks on our bed. Today I was looking for Luke, and found him in my room with the pillows pulled off my made bed. He looks at me and says "Daddy, where'd he go?"

I've been working with Joshua on not loosing his temper with Lukey. He did okay the first week, then had 13 days of doing amazing, but then today lost it and pushed Luke over when Luke said he didn't have a stinky diaper. So no dollar store toy for this week, but I'm still proud of the improvement he has made. On the flip side, he's become a real wimp. He can cry with tears at almost nothing this days.

Both boys have felt the baby move lots, and Joshua likes to watch her move in my belly. He also likes to push my belly around and make her move himself. I've been having tons of BH contractions and I'm scared of ending up on bed rest.

Robin's Wedding

I have so much to post and really not much desire to take the time to do it! So I've decided to do it little by little, starting with my sisters Wedding on 10/24. John took the day off work and headed to Italian class with the boys at 9am as I headed to the reception sight to help with last minute stuff. I was impressed that John even took Luke to the parent and me class - I was expecting him to just drop of Joshua and do something else with Luke. I helped at the club, then went home with Robin to start her hair. Yes, I am officially the one stop wedding shop - at least for Robins wedding. If the engagement pictures weren't enough, she put the pressure of making her hair look lovely for the day on me. Luckily it turned out pretty good, especially considering 1 of our 2 trial runs turned out quite ugly! As I was doing her hair, John stopped by to give me something I left in his car, then as he was leaving, Joshua threw up all over the car. So they ended up staying at my parents for another 45 minutes while John cleaned up throw up. John then took the kids home, bathed them, and put them down for naps before the babysitter got there. Luckily they both slept, which is unheard of these days. John met me at the temple for the sealing, then we headed back home to see how Joshua was doing, and hopefully pick them up for the reception. Both boys where awake, and Joshua said he wasn't feeling bad, so we quickly changed them and headed back down to the reception. The boys did amazing. Joshua was 100% the whole night. He was on the dance floor more than anyone else that night. I, on the other hand, was avoiding the dance floor at all costs. Right before I had to give my toast, I coughed without getting my legs crossed in time. I had no choice but to take my underwear completely off and send it to the car. Though you can't tell from this picture, my dress had lots of material and was very poofy. I was scared the rest of the night that Luke, the wind, or just the wrong movement would show off much more of my body than I'd ever want seen. So I mostly stuck to my chair and didn't hold Luke! My favorite pictures from the night where taken in the photo booth they had. Hopefully I will scan those in and post them. Robin and Cody had a great day and headed the next day for a European cruise. They'll be gone for another week still and I can't wait to hear how it was. I'm so excited to have another Bendheim married. And hopefully one day there will be some Bendheim cousins! As a side note, Joshua did throw up again that night around 2am, so he missed the primary program the next day. Grandma Davis, Nana, and Bop all came to watch him too! At least I had someone there to support me - which I was very grateful for.

Johns been down for 3 days

Cute picture of Luke having tons of fun being woody and riding his horse as hard as he can.

John has been out sick since Friday. He had the flu for two days, then today while unloading the dishwasher he through out his back and now can not move. He has been laying down for the last 5 hours. Well he did have to get up once to go to the bathroom - and he crawled very slowly. Poor guy! If it even was something I could take him to the doctor for, I don't know how I would get him in the car to go to the doctor.

I am hating either blogger or my computer right now - one of the two is not letting me move pictures or write where I want to. SO - above is my belly at 27 weeks. My BH contractions are out of control, and I am never comfortable. Then here are the boys in their Halloween costumes. They are super excited and wish I would let them wear the costumes more often. Luke's face in this picture is what he does when you say "smile".

Finally this is Lukeys daily outfit. Not the pj's, just the sword and hat. He wears them all day every day and fights people in bagel shops saying "I'm captain Hook!" Everyone thinks it's adorable, however the stabbing of strangers with the sword is starting to get out of hand.
And the ever late picture of Joshua not on his first day of preschool. It took me at least 2 weeks to bring the camera and get the picture. He's having a great time this year and loves his class and teacher.

Sick of this already

I've got 13 weeks left and I'm already tired of being
-Large
-totally uncomfortable
-full of pain and numbness in my left rib
-unable to sleep through the night
-too big to pick up my house without feeling the massiveness of my belly every time I bend down
-not fitting into anything
-and having to either grab myself or pee my pants just a bit every time I sneeze

Engagement Party and catch up

So, I know this picture of Luke and Cody looks not super cute, but Luke was looking super cute right before I took the picture. And I guess since Luke loves Cody, this is a picture documenting that at Cody's own engagement party he got stuck holding Luke - the duties where then taken over by Haws who played toys with him in the corner for ever. My kids have so many uncles - and aunts - that give them endless attention! I know that this is a unique situation for them, and their kids won't get it in the same way, but what their kids will get is endless entertainment from their older cousins. So that instead of saying "I'm going to Aunt Brooke and Uncle Johns house." they'll say "I'm going to Joshua and Luke's house." Which hopefully will be even more exciting.
My mom had a small engagement party for Robin and Cody 9/12 - and even made me talk about Robin. I hate speaking publicly like that. I always dread the first five minutes of a piano recital knowing I have to provide a welcome to all the parents. We are down to 5 weeks until their big day, and I'm so excited time is moving fast - for them, but mostly for me because that means my pregnancy is moving fast. I already feel LARGE and I've still got about 15 weeks left. Actually typing 15 weeks makes it sound so soon, but living 3+ months with a pregnant belly seems quite long.

Joshua started a new year of preschool, and is doing great. Luke wishes he could start too he constantly says as we are dropping off Joshua "Lukey preschool, Lukey preschool." I explain that he has to go pee-pee and poo-poo in the potty to go, but that doesn't get us anywhere. Both boys are also doing swim lessons and Italian class on Saturday mornings. I'm so excited because Joshua can finally go to class by himself - it's going to be so much easier on my to just have 1 kid in the Mommy and Me class.

Luke's daily uniform consists of his cowboy hat, a pirate sword, and Mickey Mouse crocks. He is really obsessed with all three, and is not mentally well if they are not on his body. He and Joshua ask me to sing songs about "a boy" all the time. They want me to make up songs about boys, and they don't tire of them. They'd have me go on for 30 minutes if I could handle it. Joshua is completely off naps - and Luke occasionally (4 times a month) skips his nap as well. This is something I'm not excited about! The boys have lots of fun playing together and also fight with each other lots. Obviously the fighting gets tough, but the playing is awesome and I know will just get better as they get older.

Last night our friends watched the boys for us and we went to an Italian Restaurant here in town. It was really authentic - probably the most authentic I've seen here in California. Super small, maybe 12 tables. A waitress, the cook, and a bus boy. They have the kitchen set up so you can see the cook at work. If anyone wants the recommendation email me. We loved it!
