I told Robin and Cody on Sunday night - "I'm trying really hard to give here love." Robin was depressed by this comment, as she remembers me saying "I can't get enough of this girl." when Caroline was 7 months old. Robin's Alivia is currently 6 months old, and Robin also can't get enough of her. I don't think either of the boys went through the terrible 2's as Caroline is. Luke was difficult, but not in the physical way that Caroline is!
The problem is that this little girl wants to be 30. And this picture captures it all. Here she is, walking accross the street, holding no ones hand, carrying her purse filled with all her things. She's got it together! Unfortunately, a 2 year old with limited vocabulary just isn't ready to take the world on by herself - regardless of her desire to do so. So instead she results to pinching, biting, body throwing, hair pulling, and top of the lungs screaming when forced to be a two year old and Mommy takes her agency away from her.

Aren't girls the sassiest??? My girl challenges me in ways my sweet stubborn boy never has. Be strong and consistent, enjoy the beautiful golden moments of having a girl, and know you're not alone!!
oh sweet caroline... that girl has got personality and its one of her own :) That picture is perfect! Soon the terrible 2's will be over and you can enjoy a few years before adolescents! They always say girls are good helpers, but I think Joshua has taken that role for now.
Em was super difficult, then again, so was K at that age. My girls were SUPER hard until 3 years old. Then they mellowed out. I think preschool had a lot to do with it. An option for the lack of speech at this age with a high need/desire to communicate would be a picture system. You can buy them. They're expensive. Or you could make your own. Find free images online of things she wants during the day: food, activities, etc. Also find things you want/need: running errands, (maybe a shopping cart image or store front) get creative. You use those to show her what the day's plan is. She can sort through them when you are trying to figure out what she wants and hand you the picture of the image she recognizes. Make sense?
